Hiestand Update

6/8/06 - A bluegreen truck with tools and trailer will be at Hiestand Park Disc Golf Course Saturday June 10th from 9 AM - 12:30 PM. Digging prep work for "roc" is the goal. The truck will most likely be at holes 13, 16 or 18.

The grass cutting crews is doing a great job mowing and the course is in good shape. Please help them by removing sticks and branches from fairways. This is a constant task. As you are walking and see sticks or branches, chuck em off the fairway.

Please be careful of renovation projects in mid-construction.

5-4-3-2-1 Countdown to the End of Summer

6/1/06 - We know, even though Summer has just begun, it will come to an End. So, we are counting down the months.

MADC just finished it's Spring Membership Drive, 2006 by offering a $5 discount on New Memberships and Renewals, for the month of May. We thank all of you who recently joined or renewed with the Madison Area Disc Club.

How? You ask, is MADC "Counting down to the End of Summer"?
It is as simple as 5-4-3-2-1.

$5 off New Memberships and Renewals in the Month of May.
$4 off New Memberships and Renewals in the Month of June.
$3 off New Memberships and Renewals in the Month of July.
$2 off New Memberships and Renewals in the Month of August.
$1 off New Memberships and Renewals in the Month of September.

MADC will honor all MAY Discounted Membership forms received in the MADC PO BOX before the next MADC Board meeting, on June 14th.(We will also honor the printed copy of the email renewal notice) If you have ANY questions about membership in the Madison Area Disc Club, just send an email to Mike Farnham

Hiestand is in the ground

5/31/06 - Hiestand baskets are in the ground. Be warned....... Holes 6, 7, 9 and many alternate pins are NOT mowed. Some of the fairways are twenty feet wide with remaining grass being very tall.

Please be patient with mowing and the renovation construction as the rain is slowing everything down.

Watch for renovation work time announcements. A good amount of digging remains to be done.

Local disc golfer gives kidney to niece

5/20/06 - On May 10, 2006 Chris Budzien (a local disc golfer) gave his left kidney to his 5 year old niece, Justin Prince. She was diagnosed with renal failure, in Feb. 2006 and was in need of a kidney. She started dialysis in March, 2006. Thanks to Chris she didn't have to wait long in May they were in surgery, at UW Hospital! They are both doing very well!! There will be a 4-6 week recovery period for both Chris and Justice. Our family has opened an account for Chris and Justice to help cover medical costs that are not covered by insurance (co-pays, medicine, etc.) before and after surgeries. Also, this account will help to cover the living expenses for both Chris and Justice's family while they are off work taking care of Justice and Chris.

Donations should be made payable to Justin Prince and sent to:

The Post Office Credit Union
151 West Corporate Drive
Madison, WI 53714

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We thank you in advance for your generosity. Thank you The Prince and Budzien families.

If you would like to see how we are doing you can check Justices's care page at CAREPAGES.COM after you sign in go to OURSWEETANGEL
