Hope the workday goes well tomorrow. Katie and I finally are making the trip to IKEA tomorrow... 2 1/2 months after moving into the new apt. Yikes! Anyway, we've gotta do it before it gets put off into 2008. I'll try to make it next Sunday.

BTW - is there any way we can keep holes 1 and 18 mowed the way the are right now, because they look great!

A successful work day @ Elver Park to kick-off the renovations.

Volunteers:
1. 8 Spartan Youth Service students from Memorial High Schoo
2. Jim and Brenda Kupsch
3. Chad "Big Hyzer" Inman
4. Brad Wendt

The city had cut down a lot of brush and branches.
So, one crew focused on loading up Brad's trailer with the branches
and hauling them off.
Two crews began the digging work around the tee pads: #5, #6, #8.
Another crew hauled off a boat load (multiple cart loads) of trash.
There are still bags left on 11(2), 15, 17, 18.

I took off @ 11:30am. So, others may have showed for the afternoon.

Anybody driving over on Sunday from the East side that would like to pick me up?  I get off work at 7am and thought I could come work it a little bit.  How long have the work days been going?

Hey Nic(without the "K"),

We had our very first workday last weekend when you were at the Willow.
(Will-oh like the movie)

I will be driving over there on Sunday morning.
It might not be as early as 7am.

Just gotta make sure I move all of the junk from the front seat to the back seat.

I was going to say that I would work till 11:30am
then return home to watch the Packers TROUNCE Da' Bears.

But, maybe I'll just take a lunch break @ Mid-Town pub and watch there....

I believe the Pack (which I hate to admit I'm enjoying there 4-0 and want them to beat the bears) play on Sunday night.  Damn I'm starting to sound like a fan - I know when they play and everything.  If you do take off at 1130 that would be grat cause it would be great to get some sleep sometime but there is always a picnic table in the shade I can nap at so either way please pick me up.  What time will you be heading over.  Wanna go early to play a round before the work starts?  I will bring my bag with to show you the alternatour tag I recieved!
peace
Nic

ps: go 49ers!!!!

You are right the Packers won't be DEMOLISHING Da' Bears until 7:15pm.
Most Excellent!

This means everybody is free to come and lend a hand @ Elver.

An early morning round sounds like a great idea.
But, I'm not an early morning person.
We'd have to get their by 8am I think to finish by 9am,
not that we have to.

I might be able to get you as early as 7:40am.

We should check to see when Brad will be heading over.

What Tag # do you have?
I'm @ 62.

sadly I don't even know my tag number but I would say it might be in the 50's or so....I've got Altenatour bag tag #3 though that I do know!  What ever time works for you to meet in the morning I'm game for.  I'm with you in that we can be a little late for the work day but wouldn't mind being on time for that.  So here is my proposed solution -we get there early (what ever time, 740 sounds good to pick me up) play some holes and then meet the people down there at 9am to get assignments and let peeps know we are there then go finish whatever we have left in the round?
just a crazy idea

Yes. The workdays are continuing, read the details below.
You're probably thinking,
"Hey! They've already given away the baskets, at the picnic,
what kind of incentive is there to come out and contribute
to the course work, at Elver Park?"

Well, yes, we did give the baskets away,
but that doesn't mean there won't be rewards for those
who do volunteer, on the MADC Work Days @ Elver Park.

After all, we only have a dozen club discs left.
So, we will certainly be considering placing another order,
and we're likely to have another basket to give away,
plus I think we still have some prizes left from the picnic.

Come and work and maybe you'll get lucky, on Sunday.
You won't know unless you show.

from Brad Wendt <wendtworks@ameritech.net>

Greetings any one interested.

I will be at Elver Park at 9 AM Sunday November 4.  Plan on ending work before noon.
The theme is brush removal.
Lots of brush has been painted for removal on holes 7, 8, 10, 13, 15, 16. Yellow and red spots are on all prush to be removed.
Loppers work excellent for most of it. Cut at ground level.

There is much already cut stuff that needs to be removed off the course.

Sorry I was unable to attend last Sunday.

Send Questions to me.
