Thanks Dave for running the league and thanks Chad for organizing all the video taping.  This sounds like it's gonna be a great time!

They are also going to donate a mini Discatcher.

The winner of the May Showcase will take it home.

What will the pairings/groupings be like?  Will we be placed with random people?  People with similar handicaps?  People with different handicaps?  People we want to throw with?  Just wondering.

Peace,

Previously we drew playing cards just like Random Draw Doubles for the groupings.

Show up, see what happens!  Grin

Oh, sorry. Dave is the league coordinator, so I should have consulted him on that one.

Yeah, in previous years, we've drawn for groups.  That's cool because you get to play w/ different people.  As an Am, I always enjoyed drawing a group with some of the top MadCity pros. You can learn a lot by watching people like Baartman or Ebens.  I'm pretty sure that if they were allowed to chose, they probably wouldn't want to play with me.  Although Brent, being the nice person that he is, would probably say that he wouldn't mind. I also like being with the grandmasters because they always have some disc golf insight to share.  Not to mention that I like competing with Madden.  I think I can throw further than him now, so hopefully we get paired together.

Awesome turn-out tonight!

They gave me 21 strokes. I was willing to take 15.
The 21 strokes gave me -4. So, it was a generous handicap.

For those who played, and enjoyed golfing with a bunch of other golfers,
there are other leagues.  Plus, if you join the club, you can play in the Mad Tag Bag Tag Challenge starting this Saturday, May 5th @ 12:30pm @ Token Creek.

Thanks for coming tonight.

Fun playing in a league for the first time tonight. Ended up with +4, a handicap of 10 which put me tied for first at -6. I am a bit younger than everyone else but it was nice to learn a thing or two from everyone. Smiley

Does everyone who got first get 5 points (4 people)? If so, does the 5th person only get a point?

I had a good time tonight, and the turn out was really good. However, I have two recommendations. 1. We need scorecards. One of my playing partners adjusted his score by about 6 strokes, not cool. 2. We need to explain some rules, particularly in regard to stance. I don't even want to hypothesize about how many penalty strokes would have been given to my partners if this was a PDGA tournament round... playing a foot or two to the side of the disc, stepping past the front edge, falling putts. It was all over the place. But hey, this is what the first couple league nights are for, to sort out the kinks. Hopefully the turnout will stay up through the summer and we can all play some good golf.

One of our foursome also suggested keeping score,
and provided a score card.  And, we shared the score keeping,
so no one person had to do it for all 18 holes.

We didn't use minis, but Marie did find a good clump of grass
that made for a nice natural mini. Wink

Score cards are one way the city let us know we can have sponsors involved.
The sponsors can have their name/logo on the scorecards.  Something for you to consider for the upcoming Wednesday night league, Pat.
