Welcome to 2007 Disc Golf @ Hiestand Park.

There will be a work day on Saturday, April 21st @ Hiestand Park.
(NOTE: It is Earth Day weekend come help and do your part.)

Here are a list of the tasks:

1) trash clean up
2)Tee signs can get put up.
3)Two spots for roc moving. shoveling, raking
4)Possible wood chip spreading, depending it the wood chips are delivered.

Rumor has it the baskets could be installed as well.
It depends on two things:
1. Ground conditions
2. People able to help

Chad you can get things ready for the rest of us at sunrise.  I personally like dark full bodied coffee with whole milk. Cheesy

But seriously, What time are we talking about?

Hey guys my name is Will.  I found this forum today and saw this post and I'd be willing to come out and help you guys for the day.  I'll try to recruit a couple of my friends, but no promises there.

I could be there as early as 10am or so, but the later the better    Grin

And just in case I forget and am not there by 11 or so, I'd appreciate it if one of you guys could give me a call at 333.5650 and remind me.

I've played at Hiestand for a couple years and I'm looking forward to doing something for the course and community!

Hey Will,

That's great!

Let us know how you found us.

Welcome to the Forum.

Cheers,
Mike

PS - You might want to think about Adopt-A-Hole, as well. Wink

I found you from the MADC site section on the Hiestand park clean up day.

I looked at the adopt-a-hole, but I think I'd better sit it out.  I'm still recovering from a broken wrist that took me out midsummer last year and I'll be gone for a month this summer, so I don't think it would be fair to let a hole stagnate.

Here is a quick synopsis of the plans for Hiestand Park.

I'm real curious where and what Item D "the Scenic Overlook" will be.

The shelter should be done before the end of the year.

I'll be there. I might not be there right away though. Football tickets go on sale Sat. and I gotta make sure I get my Badgers tickets this year. But once I've paid for those, I'll be there.

I'll try to make it on Saturday morning at about 9:30.  Mike, are you the one that I have been emailing recently?  Can I bring the MCDG membership form and payment to you then?

Thanks,
Garrett

The Hiestand Park Plan indicates that a shelter will be built.
The location appears to be where the Tennis Courts were.
The plans also include a bridge across the creek by holes #3 and #4.

So, a lot of golfers are wondering if Hole #4 will become Hole #1.
(I've told them that the original design was for Hole #4 to be Hole #1.)

Opinions?

Are there any plans to build toilets and running water with the shelter a la Elver?

Toilets would be a definite plus!  I hope those are in the plans.

More Roc, More Work.

From Brad via dgolfers:

Date:        Thursday, June 14, 2007 11:48 AM
From:    Brad Wendt <wendtworks@ameritech.net> Add to Addresses Block Sender

Roc was delivered today. Now it must be spread. Shovel, rake, and a wheel barrel might help.

Here is what needs to be done.

Walk between #2 tee pads needs to be flattened smooth.
#2 hole area needs to be spread and flattened.

Walk between #5 and #6 need to be flattened, use the pile only if needed.

#6 pro tee pile spread around front and left side. There is most likely more roc then needed, the rest will be trailered somw where.

#13 basket area spread and flattened. Most likely more than enough roc that  will be trailered some where.
Walk from #13 to and into #14 need to be flattened
.

I will be there Friday morning until noonish.
